A Bit About Me
Born and raised in Texas, I’ve always used writing as a way to express myself. My love for creative writing sparked in the 5th grade when I discovered pseudonyms, and by 9th grade, I won my first writing contest—penning a literacy commercial for Fiesta, which I also starred in! Growing up on the East Side of Houston, I honed my storytelling skills on my high school journalism team. Meanwhile, my passion for Southern cooking was nurtured in the kitchen with my mom, whose Louisiana roots flavored every dish.
Life led me to marriage, children, and years of serving in church, where I rekindled my love for writing through skits, songs, and full-length plays. That passion opened the door for me to launch my first production company. But when divorce shook my world, I channeled my pain into purpose, pushing harder than ever. I wrote my first book, From Fat to Fierce, and launched my Fierce brand, birthing The Fierce Arts and Entertainment Group. Through it all, I’ve spent 25 years teaching and inspiring youth about purpose and destiny. Writing is my greatest passion—it’s the heartbeat of everything I do, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
